With what feels like the longest month of the year by far now done and dusted, we move on to the most romantic month of the year...February!
This month's Chef's Selection comes from David Hand, Chef/Sales Manager and is all about Valentine's:
'To help create a romantic atmosphere for Valentine’s Day this year my recommendation for a starter would be our smoked salmon roulade, hand crafted by our Production Kitchen. For a vegetarian alternative, our Provençal vegetable and goats cheese terrine would be perfect.
For the main event, our Development Chef, Andy Beattie, has created the perfect sharing dish with Beef Wellington for two. Our Production Kitchen has made the preparation for this dish effortless. I would recommend serving with dauphinoise potatoes finished with essential cuisine red wine jus.
An alternative would be our Moroccan carrot and chickpea feuille de bric with feta and coriander, a great vegetarian alternative.
With an extensive range of Scottish cheese available, I would recommend a Scottish cheese board. My personal favourite is the Arran Mist and Arran Blue, perfect when paired with a hot beetroot chutney.
To finish off the evening, our handmade tablet and shortbread can be enjoyed with a coffee - add a little love to the coffee...it is Valentine's Day after all.'
