Andrew Beattie – NPD Chef
Andy fell into cooking in the early 90’s when he took on a part time waiting job in The Buttery. That was where his love of food and the theatre of dining out began and he met two of the biggest influences in his career; Head Chef Steven Johnson and Manager Jim Wilson.
Andy’s experience has been gained in a variety of kitchens ranging from the Michelin starred to a modern, organic deli, and almost everything else in between. Before joining the Cook School Scotland, our sister business, as Head Chef, Andy had worked at the Two Fat Ladies in Glasgow and Troon.
Andy moved in to his role as NPD Chef with Braehead three years ago to support the growing need for a new product development function within the Production Kitchen. A large part of his role is keeping up with modern food trends in order to be offer our customers food that their clientele want to be eating.
As NPD Chef, Andy works with our customers and chefs to understand their needs before developing dishes to help their events and service run smoothly.
