Dear Cook School, I was on your Meat Masterclass today, bought by my wife as a present. I should say that I have been a teacher/trainer for the last 17 years (and spent time slaving in a hotel kitchen as a student). I have to say how very pleased I was with the day today. I'm delighted that somewhere in Ayrshire has such a place for natives and vistors. I was impressed by the professionalism shown by staff from my arrival to my departure. Jason, Phil and Criag were very attentive and very hardworking (as was the kitchen assistant whose name I don't know). They were noteably generous and open with their tips when asked and also in offering their knowledge. I would also like to add that I was impressed that the three chefs sat and had coffee with us at the end of our meal. Many would have thought it an unnecessary annoyance below them. Excellent that Ayrshire and Scotland in general has somewhere like this. Well done. Howard Ramsay

It was very well organised- great equipment,yummy food ,excellent ingredients,very helpful and informative chefs. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all those at the cook school involved in my Mum’s 60th birthday dinner on 15th May. Firstly to Danni, who was instrumental in the organisation of the night, putting up with me changing the numbers several times prior to the night, responding quickly and effectively to any query I had. Then to Jason for planning such an amazing menu, considering I have been vegetarian for over 25 years I had no idea where to start with planning a reasonable carnivore menu. It was outstanding. To Steven and Phil, I cannot thank either of you enough for the exceptional high quality food you prepared for us on the evening. Everyone without exception commented on the incredible food and its presentation. The kids loved their individual pizzas and would have eaten every breadstick in the place given half a chance. My mum was really tickled with her personalised dessert. Many thanks to Steven who allowed the kids into the kitchen and taking the time and having the patience to show them the “ Blow Torch for burning the pudding” (My nephew Will’s words not my own). Lastly but by no means least, to Danni and Aileen who were incredible hosts on the evening. Looking after all our needs on the evening. Again ladies you were fantastic with my niece and nephews, which means so much to all of us. Just thought I would take time to thank you and your team at Braehead Cookery School for a most enjoyable and interesting evening. Our party had a great night and would thoroughly recommend to a friend. I have been trying some of the recipes demonstrated with good results! This note is meant to target any male of mature years who may be hesitating to go along to the Braehead Cook School (B.C.S.). Do Not hesitate any longer or you will miss a very enjoyable day, or evening, where you can be instructed and guided in some of the skills required for cooking healthy fresh food and you can cut down on the expensive precooked packaged meals.

My first visit to B.C.S. was organised as a 70th birthday present from some of my family in 2009. I was a little uncertain having watched a number of the cooking programmes on the television where the participants are invariably ridiculed for their efforts. This does not happen at the B.C.S. The Chefs, Stephen, Jason and Phil are there to demonstrate and guide you in the preparation of a number of tasty meals and are at all times available to answer questions.

I have been pleasantly surprised at the high percentage of male participants who have attended each of the classes that I have been to ( 5 day & 1 evening) and I have not met anyone, male or female, who has not enjoyed themselves. This is learning with a large dash of fun.

My sincere thanks to Stephen, Jason and Phil for helping me to gain more confidence in my cooking efforts, they have helped me to be much more adventurous in my efforts at home. Then of course my thanks to Aileen and Laura who provide a comforting start to the day with a refreshing tea or coffee and to finish at dinner with something a little stronger.

My next task is to arrange further visits for enjoyable days learning some more of the skills of cooking. My thanks again to you all. Wilson G Mills

Amelia and I really enjoyed our day, and would like to say thank you to all the staff and chefs who worked very hard together to make it work so well. I had a great time at the cook school. The whole evening was fabulous and will definately be back. Everything was excellent from the minute I arrived til it was time to go home. Attended last night's Vegetarian Night with my brother (both of us are veggies) and our friend (non-veggie).It was, quite simply, brilliant!!! From the warm, relaxed welcome to the incredible and professional tips and tasters we enjoyed throughout the demo, ending with more delicious food and wine. It was my first visit, but certainly will not be my last and I will let all my friends/family know of this amazing experience. A very quick message to say thank you for a great day yesterday on the Friends for Dinner course. My better half loved the tarte tatin I brought home, and is already planning a dinner party so that I get to recreate the full menu. I really enjoyed the way the day was structured and delivered. Could not fault my day – I found out I could cook!! (just wish I had more time to do so). Although rather nervous about what would happen it turned out a very relaxing, informative and enlightening day. The chefs never put us under pressure and that was good. Word has gone round the office of the good day my workmate Sharon and I had – they even got sampling the Cullen Skink! Many thanks again – look forward to trying something else later in the year. I just want to thank everyone at Braehead foods for a wonderful night on Thursday. The food was excellent and the Jason's demostration style was so relaxed and charming that even a hopeless cook like me was inspired. I have already subjected my family to my attempts at a couple of the dishes without too many complaints. Dear Steven, I would like to thank you and all the staff for a really fantastic day. Everyone was so kind and helpful and I couldn't wait to get home to cook my Chocolate fondant puddings. I gave one in to my elderly neighbour and she phoned and thanked me and said it was better than Marks and Spencers !!!! Just thought I’d drop you a line to say what great night my friend and I had at your demonstration night last night. The food (and wine!!) were fab, the chefs were very informative and down to earth. We really appreciated them coming round the dining tables at the end to chat to us. The girls Aileen and Caroline were very friendly and helpful. The whole experience was brilliant and I’ll be recommending it to my friends/colleagues. We’ll definitely be back!!! Thanks again!

Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed last evening. I learned so much, not just about fish, but about techniques, equipment and raw materials. Just a quick not to say a big thanks to all who made the dessert class on 13th March so enjoyable. I had a great day and certainly learnt that some of the nicest puddings are not always the hardest to make. Thank you all so much for such a wonderful party for Kirsty on Saturday. I don’t know how you packed so much into 2 hours. The smell of flowerpot cakes was heavenly in the minibus on the way home! I attended your cook school today and would have to say what a great experience from start to finish. The staff that you have employed to carry this service out are brill and definitely know what they are doing and show that they care about what they do. They are relaxed and make everyone feel at ease. This i would have to say is done professionally and well worth the money. I'm not in the habit of emailing but i have to say were credit is due. Dear folks at The Cook School ... I attended the Curry Day with Jason McNelly yesterday and had a most enjoyable experience altogether. I was impressed by the overall experience, from the initial 'welcome,' to the 'hope to see you again' as I left. The venue was 1st class; the staff were friendly and helpful; the cooking facilities were impressively serviced and designed; the food materials we had to work with were of the highest quality, and our Chef Jason and his assistant Phil were very knowledgeable and patiently responsive to our questions as the day progressed. I must give you all a hearty 'Thank You' for a day that I considered to be informative, good fun, and excellent value for money. To all the staff there at Braehead Foods, I wish you all the very best in your efforts to deliver quality products and a quality experience to the public. Thomas Findlay
