Steven Doherty - Chef Director

Steven Doherty - Cook School at Braehead Steven acquired his eminent reputation working with some of the world's greatest chefs.

He began his cookery career at the Savoy in London and then moved to Le Gavroche where he cooked alongside the legendary Albert and Michel Roux. During this time Le Gavroche became the first three star Michelin restaurant in the UK.

Steven was at the forefront of the Gastro Pub movement and went on to win both national and local food awards, inspiring others to follow his lead.

Currently he is the Chef/Proprietor at Lakeland in his purpose build First Floor Cafe. He enjoys a high media profile, lecturing, judging various food competitions and cooking for exclusive private events.

Steven is a co-founder of the Cook School and will be teaching several classes himself. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from someone who has consistently pushed the boundaries of culinary excellence.

He firmly believes that cooking at home should be a pleasure and loves nothing more than to help people cook with enjoyment and confidence.

Jason McNelly - Head Chef

Jason McNelly - Cook School at Braehead Jason is highly qualified with extensive experience of working in the catering industry.

With over 20 years of cooking under the belt, including working for Roux Restaurants, he makes a perfect teacher.

As well as working closely with the guest chefs, Jason will be running a number of classes himself and has an extraordinary amount of knowledge to pass on. One of the things he is eager to do is ensure people feel more relaxed and confident in the kitchen. For him, the Cook School is the ideal place for people to come and learn more about cookery in an educational and fun way.
